Are you affiliated to the FA?
No. We are providing an independent back-up service for Clubs who have been let down
by their assigned referee, as well as providing access to referees for corporate
events, non-league teams, five-a-side tournaments and any other scenario where a
referee is required at short notice.
CRB/Child Protection
The Referee Profiles include the CRB and CPT numbers of the qualified referees registered.
As a Club you should select your referee according to the criteria that you need
to fulfill. OneShort accepts no responsibility for, nor guarantees the credentials
of the referees on our database - it is the Clubs responsibility to verify these
details with the Referee that they select.
Unqualified Referees
Given the current critical shortage and dwindling numbers of qualified referees,
we view OneShort as a vehicle to actively recruit individuals into the refereeing
community and encourage them to undertake qualification, with the objective of increasing
the ranks of qualified referees and alleviating the growing crisis.
How are the Referees Paid and what are the Match Fees.
Match fees are paid directly to the referee on the day, as per normal. OneShort is
a contact service only, we are not involved in fee and payments between clubs and
referees.
How long does the £15 subscription last for?
This subscription allows you access to the database for 7 days. You can only search
for a match date 14 days ahead of the subscription date.
Annual Subscription
£85 subscription allows you access to the database for a full 12 months from the
date you sign up - e.g. should you subscribe towards the end of the Season, say
April, you will have access up to April of the following Season. Under this subscription
package you can search for a referee as far in advance as you wish, but remember
that most referees will update their calendars on a weekly basis so your search
results will vary accordingly.
What if the Referee I select doesn’t turn up?
Given that the nature of OneShort is to provide a last-minute backup service and
that you will be contacting referees at short notice, we believe it is highly unlikely
that you will be let down, particularly when all arrangements will be confirmed
on email via the OneShort website.
Our site will include a feedback forum, where subscribers will have the opportunity
to provide fair and constructive feedback; we believe this will also discourage
referees from letting you down unnecessarily.
